SCHÜCO AD UP SERIES

Schüco entrance doors combine numerous timeless designs with the highest levels of security, thermal insulation, weathertightness, and durability.

The Schüco AD UP series is a modular aluminum entrance door platform available in two basic depths: 75 mm and 90 mm, plus a design-led variant based on the 90 mm frame. All three share the same insulated multi-chamber profile concept and gasket system, which combines stability, security, and reliable weather performance. AD UP 75 is a robust, well-insulated entrance door suited to most residential and light commercial projects. AD UP 90 increases the basic depth and insulation zone to achieve lower U-values and better acoustic performance for high-efficiency envelopes. The AD UP 90 Design Edition utilizes the 90 mm platform, incorporating leaf-enclosing infills, flush surfaces, and integrated handle options to achieve a more refined appearance. For Eagle View Glass projects in British Columbia, the series enables entrances to be tailored to energy targets, exposure, and design intent while remaining within a single, coordinated Schüco family.

The AD UP door system achieves outstanding thermal insulation properties, comparable to those of a passive house. Available in heights of up to 3 meters and widths of up to 1400 mm, the AD UP range can provide the grandest entrances.

Notable Features

The AD UP series is designed as a single, universal platform, allowing Eagle View Glass to combine different insulation levels and styles without altering the underlying system. The 75 mm variant covers most residential and mixed-use entrances, offering a strong balance of insulation, durability, and a suitable size range.

The 90 mm variants feature a deeper insulation zone, supporting higher-performance door slabs and thicker glass, which is particularly beneficial for projects with ambitious energy targets or those with higher noise levels. Barrier-friendly thresholds and a continuous gasket layout minimize drafts and water ingress at the base of the door, which is particularly important in British Columbia’s wet climate. Access control and automation components, such as electric strikes, motorized locks, and intercom or reader hardware, can be integrated cleanly into the frame.

The Design Edition builds on these technical benefits. It adds a more minimalist, panel-led appearance with leaf-enclosing infills, continuous shadow gaps, and optional illuminated handles, creating a focal point at the main entry while still utilizing the same AD UP 90 core.

Recommended Applications

AD UP 75 is well-suited to single-family front doors, secondary entries, and light commercial entrances where consistent insulation, secure locking, and flexible panel design are priorities. It fits many homes, townhouses, and small commercial units across Metro Vancouver and the rest of BC that need a reliable aluminum entrance system with good energy performance.

AD UP 90 is a better choice for custom homes, multi-family buildings, and commercial projects that target higher energy step levels, reduced heat loss, and improved sound reduction, especially on more exposed elevations.

AD UP 90 Design Edition is designed for main front doors in contemporary residential projects and premium units, where the entrance is a key part of the architecture. It also works well for visible lobby doors in higher-end multi-family buildings that need a clean, flush appearance along with strong insulation and security. On one project, Eagle View Glass can combine all three: for example, a Design Edition door at the main entry, AD UP 90 at exposed secondary entries, and AD UP 75 at service or courtyard doors, while keeping a consistent Schüco language.

Key Specs

  • AD UP 75 with a 75 mm basic depth and multi-chamber thermal break; AD UP 90 and Design Edition with a 90 mm basic depth and a triple shell construction with an enlarged insulation zone.

  • AD UP 75 generally achieves frame Uf values in the range of about 1.4 to 1.6 W/m²K with insulated panels or triple glazing. AD UP 90 and its high insulation variants can reduce frame Uf to around 1.3 W/m²K and support overall door U-values below 1.0 W/m²K in suitable residential configurations.

  • Support for glazed or solid infills. AD UP 75 typically accepts panels and glass up to roughly 50 to 55 mm. AD UP 90 and Design Edition accept thicker infills, up to around 68 mm, which allows use of advanced insulated panels and triple glazing. The Design Edition can be specified with leaf-enclosing panels on one or both sides for a fully flush look.

  • AD UP 75 can be configured for larger leaf dimensions, up to approximately 3000 mm high and 1400 mm wide in many cases. AD UP 90 and Design Edition are typically specified up to approximately 2500 mm high and 1250 mm wide per leaf, with door weights in the medium to heavy range, depending on the infill and hardware.

  • Thermally broken thresholds with low step or almost level transitions are available on all three variants. A continuous gasket concept with multiple sealing levels provides high air tightness and watertightness, which is essential for exposed entries in coastal and mountain regions of BC.

  • All three options can be specified with multi-point locking and security hardware up to resistance class RC2. Tested air permeability, water tightness, and wind load resistance support use on weather-exposed elevations and in frequently used entrances.

  • Broad choice of colors, surface finishes, and panel designs. AD UP 90 Design Edition features fully flush panel faces, concealed hinges, and the option of an integrated handle profile with indirect lighting, creating a more architectural entrance.
